According to the latest rumor, the upcoming NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti will have two different memory configurations, with one featuring 8 GB GDDR6X memory and the other one coming with double the capacity, 16 GB of GDDR6X memory.

NVIDIA is preparing the RTX 3070 Ti graphics card for launch in May and according to Videocardz, it will have two variants. The news has been validated further by Uniko’s Hardware on Twitter which confirmed not only the chip specifications but the memory variants as well.

According to the exclusive information shared by Videocardz, the RTX 3070 Ti will feature the GA104-400 GPU. The GPU has 68 SMs that translates to 6144 CUDA cores. RTX 3070 Ti has exactly 2 more SM units than its non-Ti variant and 20 less than the RTX 3080. It will also feature 48 RT Cores which is also 2 more than the RTX 3070.

It will feature a 256-bit memory bus with 8 GB or 16 GB GDDR6X memory clocked at 19 Gbps. It is currently scheduled for release in May 2021 alongside the RTX 3080 Ti but this may get pushed further as the memory supply is not that good in the market.

According to the leaked specifications, the RTX 3070 Ti looks poised to be the replacement for the RTX 3070 rather than an upgrade, as it is not that powerful compared to the RTX 3070. The RTX 3080 Ti on the other hand rocks a massive difference when compared to the RTX 3080.

The RTX 3080 Ti has 12 more GPU clusters compared to the RTX 3080 for a total of 10240 cores and 2 less than the RTX 3090. It has 80 RT cores and 112 ROPs. It will be coupled with a 12 GB GDDR6X VRAM buffer and a 384-bit bus for a total of 912 GB/s.  It looks to be the true gaming flagship of NVIDIA’s ampere lineup. It is also currently scheduled to launch in May 2021. We will have to wait for more information to see what NVIDIA is planning with the Ti variants.
