The Nvidia GTX 1650 is supposed to be the entry-level graphics card that will replace the GTX 1050 and should be able to beat the AMD Radeon RX 560 as well. You would expect the Turing based card to perform dramatically better than the GTX 1050 that was based on Pascal and released around 2 years ago.
While the Nvidia GTX 1650 is faster than the GTX 1050, the performance is pretty disappointing keeping in mind that it is slower than the GTX 1060 3 GB and the GTX 1050 Ti. I know that this is an entry-level graphics card but I am pretty sure that the card is going to cost more than the GTX 1050 and the performance increase is not all that great.
You can check out the performance of the Nvidia GTX 1650 in the benchmark below:
At this point, we are not sure how old this benchmark is and what sort of drivers the Nvidia GTX 1650 is using. Also, this is a single game and the performance could be better in other titles. I have hope that the final version of the card will perform better but if you already have a GTX 1050 Ti then the Nvidia GTX 1650 might not be the right upgrade for you and you should look into getting the GTX 1660 instead as we have talked about how it can be overclocked to get GTX 1660 Ti level of performance. We have also spotted the GTX 1660 Ti in upcoming laptops with AMD Ryzen chips.
Sources have reported that the card will be available on April 22nd and that it will cost around $179. We will have to check out the performance before we can comment on whether or not it is worth the price.
Let us know what you think about the performance of the Nvidia GTX 1650 and whether or not this is something that you are interested in getting when it comes out.
