Nvidia GTX 1660 is rumored to be in the works and this graphics card is supposed to offer similar performance as compared to the RTX 2060 but will not come with Nvidia RTX features such as real-time ray tracing and might not offer DLSS support either. Reports claim that the Nvidia GTX 1660 and 1660 Ti will be announced next month on the 22nd of February.
This is very interesting indeed keeping in mind that the AMD Radeon VII is also going to release next month and it also does not support DXR or technology like DLSS. The AMD Radeon VII is supposed to perform similar to the RTX 2080 so it should beat the Nvidia GTX 1660 and 1660 Ti easily but that is something that we will be able to confirm once all three graphics cards are available on the market.
This is not the first time that we are hearing about the Nvidia GTX 1660. There have been a couple of rumors and leaks that suggest that the graphics card is being developed. We have also heard about the GTX 1180 that has similar performance to the RTX 2080 but might not come with RTX features either. It seems like Nvidia might release 2 different series of graphics cards in 2019.
The Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti is supposed to cost less than the RTX 2060 and reports claim that the GTX 1660 will cost 220 Euros while the Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti will cost 299 Euros. The price difference is significant and we will have to see whether or not the performance increase is worth it as well. We will keep you updated regarding the matter, so stay tuned for more information and news.
Let us know what you think about the Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti and whether or not you would rather have a card without RTX features in 2019 or pay more for such a feature keeping in mind that not many games support it.
