Switch Exclusive Octopath Traveler Might Be Heading to PC

Octopath Traveler PC

A recent Korean game rating has hinted that Nintendo Switch Octopath Traveler might be heading to PC. The title was released exclusively for Nintendo Switch but the listing might suggest that this is about to change. If the listing is true, Octopath Traveler will release on PC as well.

Octopath Traveler for PC has been listed by The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea and the title has been rated as well. The publisher of the PC version is Bandai Namco according to the listing. This does not come as a surprise because Bandai Namco has published multiple Square Enix titles in Korean market before.

The studio is currently working on a sequel of Octopath Traveler which is planned to be a mobile game. The game will feature the same HD 2.5D setup as the original title. The planned release window for the sequel is late 2019. In addition, at this point, only a Japanese release has been announced. The western release might follow the Japanese release or it may be released worldwide at the same time.

Octopath Traveler was released exclusively on Nintendo Switch in July 2018 and it features eight unique characters hence the name Octopath. Each character has its own unique role and adventure in the world of Octopath Traveler. The game is set in the world of Orsterra. The game features strategic turn-based combat with a layered battle system. The game looks heavily inspired by retro RPGs when it comes to visuals.

At this point, there is no official news whether the title is indeed coming to PC or not however we have seen a general trend that if a title appears as listed, most of the times it does end up coming out on that platform or country. This might be the case with Octopath Traveler as well. We will just have to wait and see whether this is true or not.
