Beginner’s Guide – Oninaki
Our Oninaki Beginner’s Guide will help you understand the basics of Oninaki quickly as well as some tips and tricks that will help you in playing the game more effectively.
Choose your Daemon Carefully
You start the game with Aisha but you will start unlocking more daemons as you progress in the main story in the game. Each daemon comes with its own unique powers and abilities so you can pick the one that suits your own gameplay. However, if you decide to stick with the same daemon for the entire game and keep boosting it, you will be fine as well.
The starting daemon Aisha is pretty good and you can boost her to make her even more powerful to tackle the later game parts. However, if you want to change to a different one later, it is completely fine but you must ensure that you are using the daemon that compliments your own gameplay style. It will greatly benefit you in the long-run and make your daemon really powerful after some time.
You can have four daemons with you at all times. You can switch between them easily so make sure that you always keep the ones you play with the most with all the time. If you want to switch a daemon in your party with a new one, you will need to find a save point and change the daemon from there. You cannot have more than four daemons at the same time so choose them wisely.
Adjust Your Difficulty
Unlike most games, Oninaki allows you to change your difficulty settings even after you have started the game. However, you cannot change the difficulty settings on-demand by choosing from the options. To change your difficulty after you have started the game, head to a save point and from there, you can opt to change your difficulty setting.
If you have started the game at a much higher difficulty or if you are stuck somewhere, simply find a save point, change to a lower difficulty and then come back to tackle the situation. This will ensure that you are not stuck at a point which breaks the game for you in terms of fun factor. After you have cleared the area, go back to the save point and ramp it up again if you want to.
Choose Your Active and Passive Skills for Each Daemon
Your daemons come with active and passive skills slots where you can assign them active and passive skills which make them even more effective. The active skills are usually activated by you and these could be dodge rolls to high-damage attacks that kill enemies in one hit. You can scroll through the skills in the skill tree and purchase the ones marked with the sword. You can assign three active skills to each daemon.
After being used, a countdown will appear on that specific active skill and you will be required to wait until it is ready to be used again. On the other hand, Passive skills will grant you bonuses all the time and even across your party. A passive skill equipped with one daemon in your party will affect all daemons in your party so you must ensure that all daemons in your party have passive skills in their slots.
Be Mindful of Your Equipment
As you play Oninaki, you will find tons of cool equipment in the game however since the game features a very dull interface, you will often miss all the awesome gear that pick up during your gameplay. To counter this, you can manually check all the gear which includes your weapons in your inventory to see if a better item is sitting in your inventory and you are using a weaker one. Make sure that you keep checking your inventory time and time again to ensure that you are using the best possible gear at all times.
