Starbreeze Studios has announced that Overkill’s The Walking Dead has been delayed indefinitely for the console versions of the game. the game was originally planned to launch in February of this year, however after the poor reception it got after its release on PC has seemingly put the game on hold.

In a press release issued by Starbreeze, the company is currently evaluating and reviewing the performance of the game on consoles. What this suggests is unclear, but it can mean that the studio didn’t get the performance on the consoles that they wanted.

For now there is no further information or a new release date for the game that Starbreeze talked about in the statement. This can go for another couple of months to even the other half of the year. We can only speculate and wait for the next bit of information that the studio provides.

The game is available for PC players on Steam and can be purchased to get an experience of the online game.

If you are not familiar with the game, Overkill’s The Walking Dead is an action filled four player co-op multiplayer first person shooter that is set in Washington D.C. after an outbreak brought the dead back to life. It is a test of skill strategy and teamwork that players will have to rely on to band together with up to three friends on a variety of missions, securing supplies as well as survivors to strengthen their camp against the threat of both the deal and the living, by any means necessary.

Welcome to the Wasteland of Washington D.C. Explore the capital after the outbreak, and discover what happened. Journey through the districts of the desolate city, and search lost neighborhoods such as Georgetown for loot, supplies and other survivors. Tread lightly, as any noise can be heard by both the dead and the living, and any mistake runs the risk of attracting a horde of walkers.

Players are can as Aida, Maya, Grant and Heather who are four people in the game that are brought together by necessity and the willingness to do whatever it takes to stay alive in a post-apocalyptic world.
