Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous

Developer Owlcat Games has announced their brand new CRPG Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is a classic isometric CRPG game and is based on the adventure path of the same name. The game follows the footsteps of the previous digital adaptation of Paizo’s legendary tabletop RPG, Pathfinder.

The developer has only released the first key art of the game at this point as a teaser of things to come for the title. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is not a direct sequel to Pathfinder: Kingmaker however it will expand and elaborate on the core elements that made Owlcat’s previous installment successful. It will also come with some brand new features.

These include the mythic progression system, a new corner of the award-winning Age of Lost Omens setting to explore as well as more classes and character customizations drawn from pathfinder’s extensive history. The developer has announced that it will continue to release more information about the game evolves over time. Head of Owlcat Games Studio, Oleg Shpilchevskiy comments:

We are tremendously excited to announce Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous today. With our new game, we are taking everything that made Kingmaker enjoyable and building on top of it. We laid a solid foundation and are going to push the boundaries of the CRPG genre with our next title. We especially want to thank the Kingmaker community for their support because we would not be making this game if it weren’t for them. When Wrath of the Righteous is ready, we cannot wait to see them answer the call again.

Wrath of the Righteous is based on the Wrath of the Adventure Path from the tabletop game however players will find brand new characters, plots, and elements which are completely new to the franchise. It features a story of a large-scale conflict between mortals and demons and players are thrown in a world under siege from demonic forces. Players’ decisions will play an important role in the game’s narrative and based on their decisions, players will get to have their own unique adventures in the game.

Fans of Kingmaker would be glad to know that the creative director Alexander Mishulin and Lead Writer Alexander Komzolov will return to their respective roles. Chris Avellone is also returning to the board to lend a hand and support the narrative team just like he did with Pathfinder: Kingmaker. To face the forces of demons, players and their companions will receive additional powers from the player’s chosen mythic path.

Each path in the game varies in nature and impacts the story of the game. Choosing a path will also permanently change the characters and the world around players offering them a completely unique experience. For example, players can choose the path of the Immortal Lich which can wield powerful spells and command an army of the undead or they can choose the path of the Trickester which excels at causing mischief and finds fun even in the middle of the demon-filled abyss.

Players can also choose the path of an Angel which can summon celestial allies in battles or use bolts of divine judgment upon their enemies. The point is that every path in the game is different and will completely change the course of the story for the players and their companions. Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will feature more classes than Kingmaker and all classes featured in Kingmaker will return in the brand new game. It will also come with a brand new visual style. More details about the game will be shared in the upcoming days. You can head over to the official website and check it out as well.
