This Paper Mario: The Origami King Colored Pencils Boss Guide will show you how to defeat the Jean-Pierre Colored Pencils, which is basically a color pencil box with all sorts of different colored pencils used as a missile to attack you.
The Colored Pencils boss fight in Paper Mario is another simple boss fight, especially when you know what you are doing. Our guide will show you how to proceed in the early stages of the battle, how to attack, the boss’ weak spots, and how to defend yourself after each turn and when the boss produces its own attack.
Paper Mario: The Origami King Colored Pencils Boss Guide
Before the battle begins, you will notice the same rings around you and the boss like the one you saw during your battle with the Earth Vellumental. You are again given a set of moves to rotate the rings perfectly to reach the boss and attack it.
However, the comes with its own hurdles and strategy to beat the Colored Pencils. Before you can begin rotating the rings, the boss will lock on random targets on the ring, forcing you to manage out of their way. Your next objective is to step on the ON button which will allow the Magic Circle to appear, allowing you to use your 1000 Fold Arms.
This battle also has a set time, before the turn ends, so you have to think fast and create the best path to get to the boss. If you are wondering where the weak spot of this boss is, you have to go right behind the Colored Pencils box, activate the Magic Circle, and use the 1000 Fold Arms to shut the case. This will knock out the boss for a few seconds and you and then go to the exposed mouth of the case, which is the weakest point of this boss.
Now all you are left with is to attack the mouth with your Shiny Boots, and deal damage to the Colored Pencil Boss. Following this attack, the second phase of the battle will begin where the boss will use all the Colored Pencils to focus on you. Your target here is to again get close to the boss, use the 1000 Fold Arms to grab the pencils, and slam them on the box. This will deal a lot of damage to the boss and end the fight.
