This Paper Mario: The Origami King Rubber Band Boss Guide will show you how to defeat The Elastic Entertainer, Rubber Band boss. This is another boss that has a few tricks to make the fight interesting.
Rubber Band boss will be a giant collection of single rubber bands bound together to make this giant. As you can guess, the rubber bands itself act as its HP, and knocking out as many rubber bands from it will take you closer to victory.
Paper Mario: The Origami King Rubber Band Boss Guide
Just like the Water Vellumental, the Rubber Band boss will begin the fight by manipulating the rings between the two of you. The boss will fling rubber bands on the rings and knock out some arrows from the ring. Do not be scared of stepping on the rings as they do not hurt you and will push you at the direction they are pointing at.
Your target here is to get close and use the Magic Button for your own attack. The first attack here will have you use the Fire Flower, which may seem like the best attack you can have as it knocks away several rubber bands from the boss, effectively draining the HP pretty quickly. But the boss will immediately pull all the rubber bands and gain back all the health.
Following your turn, the boss will come up with its own attack of flinging single rubber bands at you that can be blocked. If you get caught up in the bands, you will be stuck and vulnerable to a massive incoming attack. Do not shy away from taking the help of the Toads who will give you some health in return.
So what is the strategy here since all the rubber bands can easily be summoned? Well, you have to use the 1000 Fold Arms to grab the boss and fling the rubber bands far away from the center stage, effectively throwing them out of range from the boss. From this point onwards, this should be your main way of attacking. Any other attack, like the Fire Flower will be useless if the boss can gain back its health.
When you fling all the rubber bands away, the boss will be reduced to a single band. Any attack taken from the boss here will deal massive damage to you. Your strategy again is to use the 1000 Fold Arms to grab the boss. You have to be careful here as the boss will be moving around trying to dodge your grab. If you miss the grab, it will follow up with a hit. Once you grab the boss, the battle is pretty much done, and all your left is to fling the final band of the boss as far away as possible.
