Okumura Boss Battle Guide – Persona 5 Royal

Our Persona 5 Royal Okumura Boss Battle Guide details everything that you need to know about defeating Okumura in Persona 5 Royal easily.

Pre-Battle Preparations

Before the battle, it is vital that you do some pre-battle preparations so that you are ready for the battle. The most important preparation that you need to do before tackling this boss is to ensure that you have Psi, Nuke, Ice and Wind spells. Try to have Haru and Morgana in your party along with Joker as they will have all the spells that you need for this fight. Apart from that, make sure that you increase the difficulty to Merciless because you will deal additional damage to the boss with technical hits and weakness hits.

Boss Fight

As the boss fight begins, Okumura will summon some robot allies to fight alongside him. You should note that these robots will appear in different batches and you must defeat all of them. You cannot progress to the next phase of the boss fight until you defeat all of the robots in a particular phase. If the turns are over, the robots will run away or explode and the boss will summon new ones restarting the same battle phase instead of progressing to the next one. Because of this, you must ensure that you always defeat the robots within 2 turns and then focus on the boss itself. You must clear 5 waves of these robots before you can finally defeat the boss Okumura.

Each of the robots that spawn in waves are weak to certain elements which is why we mentioned in the pre-battle preparations that you must have one character in your party who can land all of these elemental spells. For the first phase, you must use Fire and Wind on the robots as they are weak against these elements. When you move to the second phase, the robots will be weaker against Ice. For the third phase, the robots are weak against Nuke. Use these elemental spells against them and you will not have much trouble defeating them.

For the fourth group of the robots, your main element is Wind however at this stage, the robots are much tougher so they will not go down very easily. You must defeat all of the robots of this stage around the same time and the boss with put Hunger on one of the party members during this phase. If he does, use Morgana to get rid of the status effect and stay in the battle for long. Magarula is exceptionally helpful in this phase.

Once you’ve finally arrived at the fifth phase, the boss will now summon robots that are weak against Psi. Switch to Mapsio for this phase of the battle with the same strategy as the previous one and you should be good. For the final robot wave, you will come against a single robot who does not have any sort of elemental weakness so you will be required to stick to normal spells. Watch out for the massive Big Bang Order attack because this attack can instantly kill your whole team. You must guard this attack. Defeat the final robot ally and you will be good to go with the boss itself which is a pretty straightforward fight.
