Philips has unveiled its brand-new Momentum 559M1RYV gaming monitor, and it is the first monitor to arrive in the market with the ‘Designed for Xbox’ tag. The Philips Momentum 559M1RYV is a 4K, 55-inch gaming monitor with technologies that reduce input lag and latency for the best possible gaming experience.

Philips is marketing the Momentum 559M1RYV as a 55-inch gaming monitor, not a television. The monitor features a VA LCD panel with 3840 x 2160 (4K UHD) resolution. The monitor has a refresh rate of 144 Hz and a response time of 4ms.

The Philips Momentum 559M1RYV features a peak brightness of 1,200 nits and is the first gaming monitor to feature the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification. In terms of color, the monitor features 95% DCI-P3 coverage. Philips Monitors Global Product Marketing Lead at TPV, Chris Brown, said the following about this gaming monitor.

The Philips Momentum gaming monitor also features a specially designed speaker enclosure designed by Bowers and Wilkins. Phillips has also created an Xbox Game Mode, which is specially designed to give the best performance while gaming on the Xbox Series X.

This is the first-ever monitor to feature the ‘Designed for Xbox’ tag. However, both Microsoft and Philips are yet to explain what specialty the Momentum gaming monitor has to qualify as a ‘Designed for Xbox’ gaming monitor.

The Philips Momentum 55-inch 4K gaming monitor has a price of $1,599 USD however a confirmed release date is known at this point. It will arrive in the market soon worldwide.
