Below we have detailed some tips to help you get an understanding of what you need to do as a beginner of the game.

Spend Money on Important Stuff

Buying different stuff in the game can drain your money really quickly. It is highly advised that you make your decisions wisely and spend on the right sort of animals, facilities, Staff, and other items.

The first thing you might want to get is the animals. There are several types of animals that you can buy. Each type of animal ranges at various prices from high to low. Having just started the game as a beginner, your target should be to get cheaper animals that you can easily afford. Do not go for the expensive exotic animals just yet, and ensure that you have at least a few different types of animals. This not only gives you more animals but also impresses the tourists that come to your zoo.

When buying a type of animal, you do not have to buy a lot of them. You can even buy a pair of three species to get things going. If you can’t decide what animals to go for, you can try getting Ostriches, Warthogs, or even Tortoises. These animals are cheap and selling them does not give you a lot of money in return. These types of animals are only good to please your guests and are best to have in your newly built zoo.

Building Facilities

For your own functional zoo, you also need to have facilities for your staff. There are many different types of facilities to choose from. Some may attract you and you might think of it as a necessary requirement to have but it is best to consider your choices financially. Saving up on money is very important and you do not want to run out of money in the early stages of your gameplay.

If you are doing okay with money and can afford a good facility or two, make sure you have the important facilities placed first. This includes a Staff Building, a Quarantine, a Trade Center and even a Keeper Hut. These should be your absolute first priority when you are looking to build facilities. If you can spare a little more without risking your money, it is also best to have a Vet Surgery facility. This is because your animals will get hurt from time to time. These happen from various reasons like rival males fighting each other in the same enclosure.

Once you have got the important facilities out of your way, you might want to think of treating your guests with facilities that will aid them. This means you can purchase food stalls, bathrooms, and merchandise shops for your guests. However, these facilities should be your secondary priorities and well after you have a good flow of cash coming in.

Building Enclosures

Once you have bought your animals, it is time to build an enclosure for them. Enclosures or Exhibits are areas that you keep your animals inside. These are also places that your guests visit to see the animals in your zoo.

Since your zoo is still new, it does need to be too large and cumbersome for the guests to walk long distances. It is best to have your animal enclosures built near the entrance. This makes it easier for your guests to visit and to see the various animals you have in your zoo.

When you are building an exhibit for your animals, you have to look for the types of enclosures that the type of animals require. Just putting up any type of fence can go against you and might even release the animals out if they try to break them open. Having said that, you also have to make sure that the fences you put up provide enough viewing opportunities for your guests. Putting up fences along the paths where guests walk over will give the best results.

If you have larger animals like elephants and other heavier animals, you will need to put up stronger and higher fences that ensure these animals do not escape or try to come out. You will also need to put up barriers that keep a distance that ensure that the animals do not escape.

Hire Staff

There is no question that you will need employees and staff to handle your zoo. Staff is necessary to keep the zoo functional, and there are several types of staff you can employ at your zoo.

The staff allows you to look after the animals, and also manage the various exhibits you have in your zoo. Staff can also be trained to make them better at their jobs. While this requires you to raise your expenses and salaries of the staff, it also brings in a lot of money in the long run when you have trained staff working for you.

Staffs are not just tied to taking care of your animals, but also your zoo. Other jobs that you might require staff for are Caretakers that keep the zoo and the park clean and also transfer animals to new habitats. Other types of staff can be keepers that take care of animals, Mechanics that keep the zoo under check and keep your repairing issues in check. In addition, having veterinarians is also an important requirement as your animals can get injured or may require some treatment over time.

Other minor tasks will require you to have security to keep your park in order or Vendors that manage food and drink stalls for the guests.

Manage Power and Water Treatment

Every facility or a building that you have in your zoo will require a power source to be functional. This means that you will need Power Transformers will power up your buildings. When deciding to purchase a Power Transformer, you can see what area they cover when you are about to put them in your zoo.

While your facilities require power, your animal enclosures require water. Ensuring that the water body in a habitat comes with some water treatment will keep your animals healthy and the water source clean. To do that, you need to have Water Treatment that will clean the water source for your animals to consume.
