Pokémon Go has announced that it will be getting new in-game events in celebration of the launch of the Pokémon TCG: Pokémon Go expansion Launch. The new events will be available to all Trainers who have the Pokémon Go app for this special collaboration.
The themed in-game events are confirmed to begin next week on 16th June 2022, and will include the following:
- Trainers will have the opportunity to catch a Pikachu wearing a Pokémon TCG-themed hat in the Pokémon GO app. This Pikachu can also be found in Pokémon GO booster packs.
- Mewtwo will appear in five-star raids in the Pokémon GO app, and Mewtwo V will be featured in the Pokémon GO expansion with special artwork inspired by raids.
- Wimpod and Golisopod will make their debut in the Pokémon GO app, as both Pokémon also appear in the Pokémon GO expansion.
The Pokémon Company International also announced that as part of the expansion, Trainers will be able to collect and play with cards showcasing Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, including their evolutions. Just like the Shiny versions of these Pokémon being available in the world of Pokémon Go, these will also appear as Radiant Venasaur, Radiant Charizard, and Radiant Blastoise in the Pokémon Trading Card Game with powerful attacks and abilities.
In addition to the event, Pokémon Trading Card Game: Pokémon Go products will be containing promo codes that you can redeem for various in-game avatar items. These items include a hat, and a t-shirt combo that matches Pikachu’s Pokémon Trading Card Game-themed hat. If you are interested, keep a lookout for the codes that will become valid from 17 Juley 2022 to 31 July 2024.
Last month, the Pokémon Trading Card Game released its Astral Radiance expansion which is set in the Hisui region. This region is also seen in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus game and it featured Hisuian Decidueye, Hisuian Typhlosion, Hisuian Samurott, and more for the first time in the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
