What are Sync Pairs
Sync Pairs is a brand new mechanic introduced in Pokemon Masters. You know that every Pokemon Trainer has one Pokemon is most dear to them and this Pokemon forms a special bond with the trainer as well. If you have following the Pokemon series since the beginning, you would know some of the most iconic partnerships in the series which are Ash and Pikachu, Misty and Starmie, Brock and Onix, James and Weezing and Jessie and Arbok.
When you combine them together, you get a Sync Pair in Pokemon Masters which means that they work and add to your party like a team. You cannot remove them from each other in the game. Each Trainer can only have a Sync Pair with the type of Pokemon they are most effective with. Misty is exceptionally good with Water-Type Pokemon while Brock is really good with Rock-Type Pokemon. They would make perfect Sync Pairs in the game.
So essentially, Sync Pairs is just a fancy name for a trainer along with his Pokemon in the game. Making Sync Pairs grants the pair some really strong attacks and moves which are really helpful in battles. If you want to win battles in the game, you cannot expect to win without making Sync Pairs with your trainers first.
How to Unlock Sync Pairs
The easiest way to get Sync Pairs is by playing through the game. As soon as you start the game, two sync pairs are given to you. These are Misty and Brock that come with their own Pokemon. Any other pairs you want to unlock will require you to get new trainers and play through the missions of the game.
There are many Sync Pairs in the game. Some of them can be unlocked with the main story gameplay, while others can be from the Sync Pair Scout.

Getting More Sync Pairs
Aside from the sync Pairs that you unlock from the main story of the game, there are also pairs that you can unlock by the Sync Pair Scout. This is the main way to obtain team members and requires you to spend 300 gems in the game’s shop where you will receive one Sync Pair. Keep playing the game and you will soon have plenty of Sync Pairs even without spending money as they are unlocked with story progression in the game as well.
