Where to Find Pikachu in Pokemon Sword and Shield
In order to find a wild Pikachu in Pokemon Sword and Shield, you will need to head to Route 4 and look around for it in the tall, yellow grass scattered in the area. Here you will eventually find one lurking around. It might a little hard to find because the grass is also yellow and Pikachu sort of blends right in it so keep looking for exclamation marks and one of them will be eventually Pikachu.
Getting a Free Pikachu with Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! Saved File
If you played Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu on your Nintendo Switch when it came out and you still have a saved file on your system, you are eligible for a free Pikachu right from the start of the game. To claim your Pikachu, head to the train station located near the Wild Area and speak with the children standing next to the terminal. However, this claimed Pikachu is not able to evolve into Raichu. If you want to evolve your Pokemon into Raichu, you must find and capture one in the wild.
How to Evolve Pikachu into Raichu in Pokemon Sword and Shield
Before you consider to evolve your Pikachu, make sure you cough it in the wild and are not trying to evolve the free Pikachu that you got from your Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! saved file. Once you have a wild Pikachu at around Level 15, find the Duo Digger brothers located near the nursery in the Wild Area and get a Thunderstone from them. One of the items that they are able to dig out is a Thunderstone. Use the Thunderstone on your Pikachu and it will evolve into a Raichu. Make sure it is above Level 15 and a wild one.
