Buckshot Software has announced that the Kickstarter campaign of their upcoming title Project Warlock II has been delayed until August 2021. Announced during the PC Gaming Show held at E3 2021, Project Warlock II was the biggest announcement to come out from the event and fans were looking forward to seeing the game become a reality.
However, due to some more time needed at the backend, the developer has pushed the Kickstarter campaign for Project Warlock II another month and it will now begin in August 2021. Following the footsteps of the first title in the franchise, Project Warlock II will also be filled with bullets, spells, and demons and will be much bigger than the first title. Kuba Cisło of Buckshot Software commented on the delay by saying:
Hey everyone! We need a little more time to get everything for the Kickstarter together and to polish the game for Early Access. We’re sorry to keep fans waiting, but we want to make it truly special. We’re confident the wait will be well worth it. In the meantime, fans of retro fps should check out the amazing Kickstarter for First Person Shooter: The Definitive FPS Documentary – it’s launching today!
If you are not aware of Buckshot’s first Doom-inspired Project Warlock, Project Warlock II is a sequel to the original title however gameplay-wise, it is taking its inspiration more from Quake this time around rather than from Doom. In terms of visuals and gameplay, Project Warlock II will be a retro shooter with non-stop action, blood-spattered pixels accompanied by an epic rock and synth soundtrack.
Project Warlock II will release on PC via Steam and GOG however initially, the game will release into Steam Early Access and GOG Games in Development this fall. The full game will release on consoles as well however no further details are currently known about the game’s full release however we can expect it to release in 2022. For additional details, you can check out Project Warlock II’s Kickstarter page.
