PS4 is Getting its own Breath of the Wild Like RPG in the form of Genshin Impact

Genshin Impact Fast Travel Guide

MiHoyo has announced that their open-world RPG Genshin Impact is coming to PS4 in 2020. What makes Genshin Impact so special is that it looks like something straight out of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The visuals of Genshin Impact look heavily inspired by Nintendo Switch’s iconic title however when it comes to gameplay, it differs in many different ways.

PS4 is not the only console this open-world title is coming to. As a matter of fact, Genshin Impact was initially revealed as a title for PC and iOS. The development for these platforms is already underway and the game is expected to arrive on these platforms in early 2020. The PS4 version, however, will be released after the PC and iOS platforms. The game is based on a manga of the same name so we cannot really blame the developers for it appearing like a Breath of the Wild clone.

The PS4 version was just recently announced by both the developer and Sony during the ChinaJoy 2019 event. The developer has released a brand new trailer of the game as well in which the title looks amazingly pretty while the design inspirations come heavily from Breath of the Wild. The combat, however, looks completely fresh and adds a fresh manga touch to the combat as we fight with cute, little girls who have superpowers.

The enemies of the game also look and behave fairly similar to that of Breath of the Wild. You will notice that the enemies do not spawn around randomly but they are found around most of the small hideouts and outposts littered around the world of the game. The way they run also reminds me of a lot of the Zelda ones.

The new trailer also showcases the combat in the game and it looks solid. It does not bear any resemblance with the Zelda and plays out much like a proper manga inspired game with supers and powerful finishers. The execution of these moves are also very fluid and so far the game pretty ahead in its development cycle. There appears to be different playable characters in the game as well.
