Rainbow Six Extraction Enemies Guide

Tier 1 Archaeans

Tier 1 Archaeans are the most common enemies you will be facing which include the following enemies:

Spiker

A projectile shooting Archaean which has spikes growing out of its arm. Staying out of its sight is the only way you can ensure not getting hit. Their more powerful variants Spiker Elites are tougher variants that deal increased damage and also take a lot more punishment before you can kill them.

Grunt

An Archaean that has two long blades as arms that it uses for melee attacks. What makes this enemy dangerous is its fast moving attacks, so its best to take them out before they can get any closer to you. These are the most common enemies in the game and you will always encounter them thrown in the mix with other enemies.

Bloater

This enemy is indicated by the green boils on its shoulder and back, where the primary function of these is to rush towards you and blow up, releasing a toxic gas that deals damage to humans. They are smaller in size as compared to that of a Breacher but they will explode after coming near to you and release a green, toxic gas that damages everyone standing in it. Always keep your distance and stand clear of the toxic gas as well.

Breacher

Another enemy which has red blobs on its back which carry explosive fluid. This Archaean relies on rushing at the humans and blowing up, dealing damage to anyone around it, whether it is humans or other Archaeans. Always make sure that you stay away from them and aim at their huge red sacks to kill them quickly. You can use them to kill other enemies near them as well as their explosions damage everything around them.

Tier 2 Archaeans

Tier 2 brings in even more dangerous enemies, that have evolved to hurt humans in powerful ways. This tier includes:

Sower

The Sower are known for their traps that blind humans. Stay alert and watch out for their traps that you might otherwise miss. These are not very common and you will often know if a Sower is around by finding their traps waiting for you.

Rooter

The Rooter produces a substance that will not only inflict damage but also immobilize you, making you vulnerable to more attacks. The best way to make sure you don’t get caught is to take them out the moment you see them. Never get too close to them because you will be trapped in their traps which explode if you are standing on top of them both damaging you and getting you stuck on the location. It is also a tough one to kill so keep aiming at its head to bring it down.

Tier 3 Archaeans

Tier 3 contains new types of enemies that bring heavy tanks and stealth Supports to stealthy Archaeans:

Smasher

A beast or a tank, whatever you want to call it, this enemy will intimidate any player instantly. Covered with an impenetrable Carapace, the Smasher will look to dash and hit you head on. The best way to take it out is to hit the weak spots. Always be on the run when you are fighting a Smasher. While it is powerful, its movement is slow and it takes time to ready its next charge. Make sure you are not in its way when it is charging or smashing.

Lurker

A hidden Archaean that not only buffs other enemies but also makes them invisible to you. This Archaean plays a support role, making the fight more interesting as you progress. On its own, the Lurker does not attack you directly but it can buff other enemies to make your life a living hell so make sure that you find it and kill it as soon as possible.

Tormentor

This Archaean is capable of producing a relentless barrage of projectiles, all the while shapeshifting quickly in and out of the Sprawl. You will have to track it very carefully to learn about its next position of attack and this makes it very hard to kill as well. Keep following its movement through the Sprawl and unload everything on it when it spawns out of the Sprawl.

Tier 4

This tier contains just one type of enemy:

Apex

The Apex is an abominable summoner that calls on other Archaeans to fight along its side. Since it spawns other enemies, your main focus should be to eliminate the Apex because it will continue to spawn other enemies on the level. Make sure that at least one member of the team is always targeting the Apex.

Proteans

Proteans will look familiar when you first spot them, and they should because they come from the React Operators that have now turned into Parasite. They mimic the same Operator’s behavior but to a limited extend.

Smoke

Capable of heave melee damage thanks to its sledge hammer. This Protean type has frontal Carapace that becomes increasingly resistant to ballistic damage as combat progresses.

Alibi

The Alibi Protean will generate duplicates of itself making combat it deceptive in combat and very dangerous. Players will be left wondering which is the original or the clones.

Smoke

The Smoke Protean is a highly aggressive and mobile enemy that uses noxious gas to control the field and comes with a simulated shotgun to attack from close range.

Parasitic Mutations

The Chimera Parasite continues to undergo random mutations and presents new challenges to the players. Players will find the following mutations in their survival adventure:
