The new title in the series, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will be a brand new full length adventure according to the developer. The events of the game follow after the evil Dr. Nefarious has acquired a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he always wins, and Ratchet and Clank are separated.
We’re also here today to reveal new artwork for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. This beautiful new piece speaks to the game’s theme of duality. Ratchet and Clank are the personification of opposites forming a more powerful whole and this theme is expanded even more through alternate-dimension counterparts of characters and worlds
The new game will have the two main characters trying to reunite as they meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, get to explore new and familiar locales with a dimensional twist, and a ton of new weapons. If you are not aware of the series, or if this will be your first title of the series, you don’t have to worry as it features a stand-alone storyline. On the other hand, returning fans will have a deeper connection with the new and previous games.
Anyone who pre-orders the game digitally will get the Carbonox armor which is updated with high-definition materials, lighting responses, and ray-traced reflections. The second item is the Pixelizer weapon, the retro-blaster from Ratchet and Clank 2016 game.
