If you own a PS4 then you are eligible to play Red Dead Online for free until May 27, 2019. This applies to every player whether they are a PS Plus subscriber or not. You must own the base game, however. This is great news if you always wanted to try out Red Dead Online before actually jumping on the purchase decision for PS Plus only for Red Dead Online. During this time, all of the content available in Red Dead Online is open for everyone.
If you are not aware then you should know that Rockstar Games recently announced that Red Dead Online is leaving beta soon. Since its release, it has been in beta as Rockstar has been fixing the mode, adding new content and experimenting with different things. However, now it is out of beta as the latest update for the title not only removed the beta but it added tons of new content to the game as well.
With the latest update, Red Dead Online now has five brand new missions to ‘A Land of Opportunities’. There are also new Free Roam missions that bring many characters from the base game to the online experience just like it was the case with GTA V online. We saw a lot of characters from the singleplayer game make an appearance in the online mode and Rockstar is following the same strategy again.

Coming back to Red Dead Online’s free trial, this is the perfect time for new players to give it a shot before purchasing the full game. We know that the singleplayer experience is alone worth the price and the Red Dead Online is simply the cherry on the top.
Coming out of Beta does not mean that the mode will not receive more content. Rockstar Games plans to keep long term support going for Red Dead Online just like GTA Online and you can expect that the mode is only going to get better and better with time. All progress during this trial period will carry on if you resume after the free period ends with PS Plus so you have nothing to lose here.
