You will have better food, better medicine, better ammo, and more provisions waiting for you at the camp once it is fully upgraded. You will also craft better satchels and unlock the fast-travel map at the camp.

Our Red Dead Redemption 2 Camp Upgrades Guide details everything that you need to know about camp upgrades and how much they will cost you. You can purchase upgrades from either Camp Ledger or Pearson. All upgrades from Camp Ledger cost you money, while Pearson will require materials to craft upgrades for you.
We have detailed all Camp Upgrades for you below so that you can easily gather their required materials and then head back to the camp to upgrade rather than visiting the camp, again and again, to look at material requirements.
Camp Upgrades from the Ledger
These upgrades can be purchased from the Camp Ledger, located next to the Camp Donation Box. These upgrades will help you get the most out of your camp so it is advised that you purchase these upgrades early in the game. You will have access to the ledger after reaching a certain point in Chapter 2.
The following upgrades are available at Camp Ledger.
Strauss’s Medicine Wagon
Upgrading Strauss’s Medicine Wagon will allow you to have more medical supplies at the camp. The following upgrades can be purchased.
- Basics
Unlocked from the start. Basic Liquor, Health Cures, and Bitters are available in camp.
- Sharpen the Senses
Costs $30. Snake Oil and Potent Bitters are available at camp.
- Something with Kick
Costs $50. Tonics and Premium Liquors are available at camp.
- The Good Stuff
Costs $75. Potent Health Cures and Liquors are available at camp.
If you run out of supplies, you can also spend some cash to resupply. The resupplying costs increase with each upgrade.
Pearson’s Provisions Wagon
Upgrading Pearson’s Provisions Wagon will allow you to have better food items at the camp. The following upgrades can be purchased.
- Essentials
Unlocked right from the start. The basics, bread and biscuits, are available at the camp.
- Less Bland
Costs $30. Fresh Fruit and Basic Canned Goods are available at camp.
- Some Real Variety
Costs $45. Chewing Tobacco and Premium Canned Food are available at camp.
- Treat Ourselves!
Costs $55. Cocaine Chewing Gum and Assorted Sweets are available at camp.
If you run out of supplies, you can also spend some cash to resupply. The resupplying costs increase with each upgrade.
Arthur’s Ammunition and Arms Wagon
Upgrading Arthur’s Wagon will give you more ammunition available at the camp.

Costs $60. Repeater ammo and Bows are available at camp.

Costs $90. Throwing Knives, Shotgun and Rifle ammo available at camp.

Costs $110. Fire Bottles and High Velocity Repeater ammo are available at camp.

Lodging
These upgrades increase morale all around the camp.
- Bare Bone Shelter
Available from the start.
- First Things First
Costs $220. Upgrades Dutch’s Lodgings and encourages other camp members to donate more to the camp.
- Next in Line
Costs $325. Upgrades Arthur’s Lodgings. Unlocks Fast Travel map.
- For Everyone!
Costs $300. Improves the lodgings for everyone else around the camp.
- Horse Station
Costs $300. Adds more spaces to hitch horses in the camp and allows you to manage stable horses right from the camp.
- Chicken Coop
Costs $175. Reduces the time you need to wait for Pearson’s Stew.
- Leather Working Tools
Costs $225. Unlock Pearson’s ability to craft special Satchels for you.
- Camp Boat
Costs $450. Unlocked after you reach Chapter 3 of the main story. Gives you access to a Camp Boat which is always present at the camp. It also gives you access to different fishing holes.

These camp upgrades are crafted by Pearson so you will need to bring him the required crafting materials and purchase the Leather Tools from the Camp Ledger to craft these crafting upgrades.
