Resident Evil Village Will Conclude Ethan’s Story from Resident Evil 7

Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village is the eight main title in Capcom’s long-running Resident Evil franchise and it was recently revealed during the PS5 Reveal Event. The brand new Resident Evil Village looks amazing and during a recent interview, we got to know a lot more details including the game’s story. The interview was conducted by Famitsu with the producers Tsuyoshi Kanda and Pete Fabiano and was later translated by Alex Aniel and shared on his official Twitter account.

During the interview, a lot of good details were revealed about the upcoming next-gen Resident Evil Village. For starters, Resident Evil Village is 60% complete and according to the producers, the game has been in development for the past 3.5 years. This means that while Capcom was busy releasing remakes for the current generation console, it was also working on Resident Evil Village at the same time. Focusing only on the next-gen release of the game has allowed them to make the visuals and sound better with near to no loading times which will allow players to have a more immersive experience.

Inventory management is coming back and the game will be played in first-person as well just like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard. The game will conclude Ethan’s story which started in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard however the interview suggests that there may be more than one protagonist this time around. This might be Chris and Village could serve as a conclusion to Chris’s story as well however we do not have any solid information on this at this point. The producers do recommend that if players have not played Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, they must before they play Resident Evil Village since the stories are interconnected and many references go back to the original title that started Ethan’s story.

The game might be heading for a 2021 release on the consoles and we are certainly looking forward to it. The game is slated for release on PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. It will skip the current generation of consoles.
