Crypto was leaked by data miners as early as February after the release of the game, however, no hard evidence had suggested that such a character could be making its way sometime in the future. The rumors grew stronger in June when his laptop appeared before the introduction of Season 2 Battle Charge. It is also unclear what Crypto will specialize in, what his combat style will be, and most importantly, what his abilities and ultimate abilities he is going to feature in the arena.

When Tina Sanchez was asked if she and the team are developing the rumored Crypto Legend in Apex, she posted a reply with an emoticon that neither denied nor confirmed.

Whatever the case may be, a new Legend is on its way and it might be Crypto after all. Respawn has planned to add a Legend every new season. With the third season planned for September, we expect the new legend in development to arrive in the update.
