Developer and publisher Bluepoch Games is celebrating the first anniversary of its award-winning time-travel RPG, Reverse: 1999. To kickstart the celebrations, the developer has released a major update for Reverse: 1999 that promises new content and rewards for both returning and new you. The latest version, 1.9, aptly named “Vereinsamt” (which means “Lonely” in German), introduces a plethora of features, characters, and events that are sure to captivate the game’s community.
You can start now by acquiring the new 6-star character, Semmelweis, completely free just by logging in during the anniversary event. Alongside Semmelweis, the update also brings back the popular 5-star character, Matilda, as an additional reward. For those who are new to the game, the celebration comes with an even bigger bonus: up to 100 free pulls just for joining. Regular you are also in for a treat with 30 free summons available during the event period.

Version 1.9 adds Lucy, a new 6-star DPS character. Sporting a unique robotic design reminiscent of the classic film Metropolis, Lucy is much more than she appears. Although she looks like a female robot, Lucy is an Awakened Arcanist whose core originates from the Watt steam engine prototype, symbolizing an era dedicated to the pursuit of scientific development. Her story and character design adds a new layer of depth to the game’s already rich narrative tapestry.
The anniversary update also sees the return of Kakania, the beloved psychiatrist introduced in Version 1.7. She will be available for summoning in the banner “Observation into the Mirrors” starting October 10th. You will get a chance to delve deeper into her story in the latest chapter of the main storyline, which explores her ongoing struggles and aspirations.
Another major addition to the game is its first unique garment, “Take Off! To the Future,” for the character Regulus. This special outfit not only changes the appearance of the character but also introduces new ultimate animations, enhancing the visual experience for you. Additional new garments for characters like Jessica and Voyager have also been made available, while you can earn a new outfit for Sonetto by completing specific tasks during the anniversary festivities.
For those seeking new gameplay experiences, the update introduces a new roguelike mode called “A Series of Dusks.” This mode not only adds fresh challenges but also offers the chance to unlock the free 5-star character, Lorelei, along with various other rewards. Meanwhile, the new “Wilderness Pack” themed “Silver Fantasy” is available in the Wilderness Shop, offering you more customization options and materials.
In addition to in-game content, Reverse: 1999 is hosting its first-ever special offline exhibition titled “To the Past Times” at 481 S Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA, from October 26th to 27th. This exhibition will showcase special artworks, iconic items, and posters from the game. You attending the event can also look forward to film screenings of version trailers, music videos, and other exclusive content.
Further collaborations have been announced, including one with Discovery and another with KOI. The Discovery collaboration will introduce new garments for Tooth Fairy and Getian, while the KOI collaboration will be featured in two signature stores in Singapore. These collaborations will offer limited-edition merchandise, special gift codes, and more surprises, adding an extra layer of excitement to the anniversary celebrations.
Moreover, the first-anniversary event includes a fan creation competition with a total prize pool of $22,500. You can showcase your creativity in categories like Drawing, Music & Video, Cosplay, and a fun Sticker Prize, with winners standing a chance to win cash prizes.
