We all know Riot Games from League of Legends and we also know that Riot Games has not worked on any other game for a long time however Riot Games has been secretly working on a brand new fighting game. This was rumored for a long time however it was only confirmed by Riot Games during this year’s EVO that Riot Games is indeed working on a fighting game and termed it as ‘worst-kept secret in the universe’.
Evo is the annual fighting game tournament and it is currently going on in Las Vegas, USA. This was revealed by Tom Cannon who is a founder of Evo and a Riot Games employee at the same time, stated that his team is working on a fighting game. The game is not announced to anyone at this time and we don’t even know if the fighting game is based in the world of League of Legends or will it be a brand new IP for the developer.
Tom simply confirmed the development of the fighting game but however did not share anymore details at the time. This was during a special interview during the EVO and the news was first picked up by eSports reported Rod ‘Slasher’ Breslau. You can check out his Tweet below in which he confirmed the news of Riot Games developing a fighting game.
Breaking: EVO founder and Riot employee Tom Cannon has confirmed the worst kept secret in gaming – Riot is officially working on a fighting game, the first game outside of League of Legends for Riot pic.twitter.com/P3BGaVs4u4

This makes even more sense because Tom started his own video game company back in 2011 however it was later acquired by Riot Games in 2016. They made a robot fighting game called Rising Thunder which could serve as a base for their upcoming fighting game. Riot Games did not issue an official statement on this however we are sure that an official announcement is coming soon now that the cat is out of the bag.
