ROCKFISH Games has released two brand new comprehensive vlogs for Everspace 2 as its Kickstarter campaign nears its final sprint. The Kickstarter campaign for Everspace 2 is ending on November 4, 2019, at 3:59 PM PST with a goal of 450,000 EUR. At this point, around 75% of the total goal has been achieved and for the final push, the two vlogs reveal new information about aliens, NPCs, and open-world gameplay in Everspace 2.
The full version of Everspace 2 will feature at least eight star systems and each star system will be divided into zones with different threat levels and featuring numerous hand-designed locations to discover. Players will be able to travel freely between these locations. Apart from these locations, players will also encounter procedurally generated locations styled after those in the first Everspace game.
Players will also encounter a wide variety of extraterrestrial lifeforms inside these star systems. ROCKFISH has also added new rewards in the Kickstarter campaign to help with the design and naming of these exotic flora and fauna. After listening to the fans, developers have also fulfilled their wish to fly down to planet surfaces. The game will allow players to fly down to planets and explore hand-drawn planets.
Differences in gravity and air resistance will also be in place along with new types of enemies that will put the skills of pilots to the test and will offer a greater variety to players as they tackle new missions on ground stations, upgrade their ships, or trade on planets. The visual quality and level of detail of the predecessor’s established NPCs coming back to the series have been improved as well with the new texturing process with the help of leading external studios such as Volta, Streamline Studios, and Liquid Development.
The last highlight of the new vlogs is the brand-new gameplay mechanics which will allow players to take down huge ships by exploiting their hull weak points. Players will be able to enter huge ships and fight them from inside and interactive level elements can be used to inflict damage in otherwise inaccessible places. The combat AI has also been developed from the ground up which will allow enemies to pull off different and more varied attacks, defense, and retreat behaviors.
Micheal Shade, CEO, and co-founder of ROCKFISH Games said:
The feedback from space enthusiasts, the games press and influencers of our vision and the demo of EVERSPACE™ 2 alike is overwhelmingly positive. Nevertheless, after evaluating over 20,000 comments on game sites and our social media channels, a possible exclusivity in the Epic Games Store, which we have never considered seriously, seems to be a significant concern in the PC gaming community. Therefore, we want to make it crystal clear once again: EVERSPACE™ 2 will be released on Steam, first. It’s home to our most loyal fans and Valve is also by far our most important distribution partner; it would be insane if we disappoint either. Granted, the Kickstarter isn’t going as well as we’d hoped, but we believe we can make our dream of an open-world space shooter RPG come true together with our community and bring the campaign to a successful conclusion – because we still have a lot of awesome stuff up our sleeves that our fans will love.
If you want to know more details about this ambitious project, you can check out the official Kickstarter page of Everspace 2. Currently, Early Access of Everspace 2 is slated to arrive on Steam in September 2020 while the full release of the game is slated to be released on PC via Steam, PS4, and Xbox One in the second half of 2021. All backers will receive their demo of the game via Steam later this year.
ROCKFISH Games delivered an absolute blast of a sequel with EVERSPACE 2 and we have its wonderful Accolades Trailer to prove it, alongside the Incursions Update, the teaser trailer for its Drake: Gang Wars update, Xbox Game Pass arrival trailer, Zharkov: The Vortex Update, First Early Access Update trailer, detailed roadmap reveal, Early Access Preview, and Early Access Launch announcement trailer. EVERSPACE 2 started its journey as a Kickstarter project during which it showcased in-game locations, HOTAS support, exclusive Closed Beta, gameplay trailers, Closed Alpha, and Concept Art.
Its Early Access launch was delayed on two separate occasions, one in March 2020 and then again in November 2020. Its Kickstarter campaign had a massive goal of $493,000 which was achieved on its final campaign day. The developer kept gamers in the loop with a regular influx of new information during this period. We were lucky enough to get our hands on an early access prototype of the game back in May 2020 for our preview.
