Developer and publisher Down Smash Studios has announced an open beta showcasing the Block Party mode of their upcoming title Rodent Rumble. The chaotic world of Rodent Rumble is opening its doors to you for a weekend of neighborhood brawls and races, with an open beta scheduled for November 15-16. This rodent-themed multiplayer showdown brings its highly anticipated Block Party Mode to life, allowing up to 30 players to compete in over 20 fast-paced minigames. With an eclectic mix of racing, dodging, and outsmarting rivals, the game challenges you to be the last rodent standing in a series of unpredictable mini-battles.
A new Block Party trailer offers a glimpse of the thrill of suburban competition that you can expect. In Rodent Rumble, each round is an obstacle-filled sprint through the neighborhood, where rodents navigate backyards, rooftops, and alleyways in a chaotic race against the clock. Featuring parkour-style stunts, the game is packed with stages that vary in difficulty and style, keeping you on your toes with every new round.

Key features of the Block Party Mode include its multiplayer minigames, allowing up to eight friends to join forces in a 30-player lobby for intense, gameshow-inspired rounds. Here, you race, jump, and dodge to stay ahead of the competition in their quest to secure the top spot. Another exciting feature, Rodent Royale, offers a fresh take on the popular battle royale genre, where rodents from around the world compete in both ranked and unranked matches.
Rodent Rumble also introduces a unique Scurry Up mode, where you must speedrun up the tallest tree in the neighborhood, carefully navigating challenging obstacles. One misstep sends you back to the base, pushing them to perfect their timing and precision. For those who like to stand out, the game provides plenty of customization options, from hats and goggles to dance moves, letting you personalize their rodents as they rumble through the neighborhood.
The game’s PARKour feature encourages you to strategically traverse the landscape, scaling walls, trees, and rooftops to find advantageous spots. Whether in Block Party Mode or Scurry Up, the game’s terrain requires you to think creatively and use your surroundings to gain the upper hand.
A Steam page for Rodent Rumble is now live where you can request access to the upcoming beta as well as the playtest. The developers will grant access at their discretion to selected players for the playtest but to ensure you are in the upper tier, add the game to your wishlist. This will ensure that you remain updated on all upcoming beta tests and news announcements as well. Additional details about the game will be revealed at a later date and the game is slated for a 2025 release.
