Indie game developer Headbang Club has unveiled DeathTower, their latest project, set to release soon on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PS5. In anticipation of its launch, a playable demo is now available for PC, offering you a glimpse into the dark and mysterious world of DeathTower.
DeathTower is a 2.5D isometric roguelite tactical RPG that challenges you to ascend the enormous tower known as Megaryon. You take on the role of Ikarus, who, along with a wandering companion µbot named Phi, is tasked with uncovering the secrets of this ancient, mechanical megastructure. The story kicks off when a parasite-cleaning operation goes horribly wrong, plunging Ikarus into a struggle for survival against biological threats, rogue soldiers, and malfunctioning machines.

As you venture deeper into the tower, they will encounter a variety of biomes and floors, each filled with unique enemies and hazards. DeathTower’s gameplay offers a mix of stealth, combat, and strategic planning. You can choose to clear floors using powerful weapons, grenades, and ammunition, or opt for a stealthier approach, utilizing the environment to avoid confrontation. Each run in DeathTower is procedurally generated, ensuring a fresh challenge with every attempt.
The game also incorporates immersive role-playing elements, allowing you to hack into the tower’s systems to boost abilities and summon assists. DeathTower offers ten class trees with a total of 75 unlockable skills, enabling you to customize their characters to suit their playstyle. While falling in battle means restarting from the beginning, skills earned during previous runs are retained, allowing for faster progression in future attempts.
The game’s demo, available now on Steam, gives you an hour of content to explore. They can try out the first few floors of the tower and test their skills against a massive boss encounter. With a range of playable characters to unlock and a wide array of weapons and hacks, DeathTower promises deep strategic gameplay as you strive to survive the tower’s escalating dangers.
DeathTower will soon begin its Kickstarter campaign to secure additional funds for its development. You can check out its official Kickstarter page for additional details. Additional details about the game will be announced soon. Apart from PC, PS5 and Nintendo Switch release is also planned.
