RTX 3000 Series Latest Release Date Rumors and Speculations

RTX 3000 Series

Some new rumors have surfaced regarding NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3000 series card’s release date. Previously it was heavily rumored that NVIDIA is planning to announce the cards sometime in August. But the latest rumors suggest that NVIDIA will announce the RTX 3000 series lineup in September.

This rumor states that like the RTX 2000 series, which was announced late in August 2018 and released at the end of September 2018, the RTX 3000 series cards will also follow suit. The RTX 2000 series Turing cards were announced around Gamescom in 2018. And this year, the Gamescom is also taking place in August, starting from August 27th. So that may be the reason why this rumor has started to pick up the pace.

According to Overclocking.com, NVIDIA will announce the RTX 3000 series cards at Gamescom. The RTX 200080 teaser for Gamescom announcement was published a week before the event, so we may see another teaser for the upcoming RTX 300080 card.

The website MyDrivers has claimed that the Ampere series’ first cards, the 3080 and the 3080Ti are set to be released on 17th September. According to the report, GeForce RTX 300070 is also expected to be released a month later than RTX 300080 series in October, with the RTX 300060 series expected in November.

This release timeline will see the 3060 getting released 2 months earlier than its predecessor the 2060, which was released in January of 2019, a full 5 months after the announcement of the other 3 cards.

The leaks have been quite positive about the performance of the new RTX cards, which are based on the new Ampere architecture. It is heavily rumored that the cards will be based on Samsung’s 8nm process, with another rumor suggesting that the RTX 3080 is expected to be about 20% faster than the 2080ti. So if the above dates are true, then we won’t have to wait much longer to get our hands on this new generation of cards.
