Developer Maccima Games along with publisher Squeaky Wheel Studio have announced the demo of their upcoming evil overlord simulator Ruinarch. The demo is available on Steam right now, as part of the ongoing Steam Summer Festival.
The pre-release preview of the game arrives just ahead of the game’s Early Access launch planned for this August 2020. In addition, the developer and publisher have both confirmed that the game planned for a full release for PC next year in 2021. However, there is no confirmed date nor release window information.
The Early Access of the game was previously announced to launch in May. Back in February, both the developer and publisher had announced the Early Access launch on steam, while also mentioning the price of the game which is set to $19.99.
Ruinarch is a devilishly fun simulation game featuring procedural story generation. The antagonist of the game is an evil demon overlord creating havoc and invading fantasy worlds, a rich and fertile land lies before you; ripe for the picking.
You take over regions one by one, spreading your influence inexorably towards the heart of the kingdom. Poison people’s food, raise the dead and inflict endless misery. Turn heroic defenders into pitiful wretches by unleashing an array of demonic spells upon them and create a hellish chronicle for the ages.
With each playthrough, the game will generate a fantasy world that you have to conquer and lay waste. You will have different worlds that will offer a variety of situations for you to exploit, manipulate, and corrupt.

- Fracture the kingdom into multiple competing subfactions to weaken them from inside
