Safe In Our World, a mental health charity focused on video games, has partnered with The Multiplayer Group to launch a special Halloween-themed Dungeons & Dragons one-shot adventure. As part of the charity’s Press Pause 2024 fundraiser, you are invited to participate in this eerie tabletop experience while raising funds for mental health initiatives.
Titled The Gatekeeper, this exclusive D&D adventure was created specifically for the event and draws inspiration from 80s horror themes. You step into the shoes of ghost hunters hired to investigate the haunted Press Pause arcade. The spooky building holds many secrets, including arcade machines with a dark past and a malevolent spirit determined to protect its high scores. As you navigate the eerie surroundings, they’ll face challenges designed to test their teamwork and creativity.
The fundraiser runs from October 25th to November 3rd, and you are encouraged to set up your own Tiltify campaigns to raise money while enjoying their D&D sessions. Whether you prefer private games or live-streamed playthroughs, participants will have a chance to contribute to a good cause while having fun. Those who raise over £100 will be rewarded with custom dice shakers from L’Emporium du Bizarre. Additionally, a Legion Go handheld gaming console will be given away, courtesy of the Legion Gaming Community, as part of the fundraiser.
Co-writer of The Gatekeeper, Bridie Daniels, explained that the game offers an accessible entry point for both newcomers and seasoned D&D you. The adventure is designed to be easy to customize, allowing you to add your own twists or adjust the difficulty as you see fit. Safe In Our World encourages participation from a wide range of players, whether they are new to tabletop role-playing or veterans of the genre. Even groups of colleagues or industry peers are welcome to join in and create their own fundraising efforts.
On November 2nd, Safe In Our World will host a live playthrough of The Gatekeeper on its Twitch channel, offering viewers a chance to watch the adventure unfold. However, the D&D one-shot isn’t the only way to participate in Press Pause 2024. The charity encourages you to get creative with their fundraising efforts, whether through game-a-thons, marathons, or other imaginative initiatives.
