The newest game to make its way to the Nintendo Switch library is a seven-year-old game, Saints Row The Third. For some reason the developers have completely ignored the later games in the franchise, Saints Row IV and Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, and gone for the third game in the franchise. You can check out the original 2011 Saints Row III trailer below.

One would wonder why Deep Silver would release such an old game on Nintendo Switch because the games released after this specific title were much better and they took the franchise to new heights. Saints Row IV is considered the best one in the series so far.
Saints Row is known to be a wacky GTA clone that has everything from GTA but taken to a new level of wackiness. It features an open world filled with different sorts of activities such as modding cars, changing costumes, side missions, and collectibles.
It even has its gangsters roaming around in the world and the battles are immensely fun, especially with the funky weaponry and combat vehicles in the game. Does anyone fancy a shark gun? It even received numerous DLC packs, which added new vehicles, missions, and weapons to the game. We hope that all extra content and DLC content is included in the Nintendo Switch port.
This is also the first time that a Saints Row game is making its way to the Nintendo console. This could open up the possibility of later titles in the franchise coming to the console as well and would also mean that we might get all future Saints Row titles on Nintendo Switch.

Saints Row The Third received decent scores when it was launched in 2011 on PS3, PC, and Xbox 360. We are hoping to see more Saints Row games on Nintendo Switch in the future as well.

Officially, we do not have a release date for the game as Deep Silver has simply said a next-year release but IGN has hinted at a 2019 release.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. Was this a good decision by Deep Silver to skip the later releases and release Saints Row The Third on Switch first?
