SNK Corporation has announced the DLC characters coming to Samurai Shodown during its Season 2. Samurai Shodown was nominated for Best Fighting Game at The Game Awards 2019 and it will receive 4 brand new characters as DLC during its Season 2 starting February 2020. The new DLC characters will also arrive in the Nintendo Switch version of the game which is slated for release on February 25, 2020.
The three new DLC characters arriving in Season 2 include Mina, Sogetsu, and Iroha whereas the fourth character is a secret at this point and will arrive later as well. More details on the fourth character will be announced at a later stage. All of these characters are legendary characters and have been part of the franchise before as well. Mina is the first Season 2 DLC character to arrive in the game in February 2020. Sogetsu and Iroha will follow her later with the fourth DLC character arriving finally.
Mina is part of Samurai Shodown since 2003 when she joined the roster of the franchise in Samurai Shodown V. She is now coming back to the franchise and brings her trusty bow to the game as well. She reached first place in Dengeki Online’s most wanted DLC characters poll. Sogetsu is even older than Mina and first made his debut in the franchise with Samurai Shodown IV in 1996. He can control water and is a proud ninja of the Kazama clan.
Iroha made her debut in Samurai Shodown VI in 2005 and has been part of the franchise ever since. She comes equipped with a pair of butterfly swords and she came second in Dengeki Online’s most wanted DLC characters poll. The fourth and final DLC character of Samurai Shodown Season 2 will be revealed at a later stage along with more information. The first character Mina will arrive in the game next month.
The Nintendo Switch version of Samurai Shodown is arriving on February 25, 2020, and it comes with all DLC characters released for the game until now. Samurai Shodown is now available on PS4 and Xbox One.
