SNK Announces Samurai Shodown Xbox Series X|S Release Date

SNK has just announced the Samurai Shodown Xbox Series X|S release date, which makes it the first next-gen console to receive the game. In addition, the game will be available in a physical edition thanks to the developer partnering with Koch Media.

The release date for Samurai Shodown on the Xbox Series X|S consoles is set for March 16, 2020. Owners of the game on the previous-gen can play it on their Xbox Series consoles thanks to the Smart Delivery system. This includes all purchased DLCs as well which are also transferable.

Koch Media will be launching the physical edition of Samurai Shodown with four attractive bonuses in the boxed version. This will include the Season 1 Pass, which gives you access to 4 characters, a costume, and the brand new character Cham Cham when the DLC is released. Both the physical and digital edition of Samurai Shodown for $59.99.

SNK had previously announced their plans to bring the game on the next-gen consoles, where the developer confirmed that the game is heading to the Xbox Series X|S consoles sometime in winter.

The game was first introduced back in 1993, and after 11 years from the previous installment, the series adds in a completely new game. Samurai Shodown is known for its breath-taking battles and stunning characters with amazing visuals and sound design that enhance the experience.

The latest game in the series takes place one year before the events of the original Samurai Shodown game. where tensions are still hot in the land of the rising sun. in addition to the several characters in the roster, players can also choose Shizumaru Hisame, a famous protagonist of Samurai Shodown III.
