NetherRealm Studios has finally revealed a gameplay trailer for Shao Kahn which also reveals his bloody X-Ray move as well as his fatality in Mortal Kombat 11. Fans were keen to watch Shao Kahn in action because he was revealed with the game last year but his gameplay trailer was never revealed. NetherRealm had announced him as a playable character back when they revealed Mortal Kombat 11.
The new trailer is brutal. We knew that Shao Kahn would be a deadly fighter but he looks like an absolute badass. As suspected he is a little slow in his movement but that means his moves would pack more punch as compared to smaller and nimble fighters in the game. Shao Kahn might take some time to land his attacks but when he does, he will absolutely annihilate his enemies and we have seen that in the new trailer.
In the trailer we see Shao Kahn kicking ass and getting his own ass kicked by some fighters as well. Most of the ass-kicking is done by Shao Kahn however as he goes against Raiden and he does not hold back. He brings his signature hammer to the battle and now it appears that he is equipped with a spear as well which he gladly pierced in Raiden’s body multiple times.
Most of his moves involve his hammer, spear or his chest. Don’t forget his leg. In between the ass-kicking, Shao Kahn can also taunt his enemies which was his best feature in earlier games as well. His X-Ray move is absolutely deadly and involves both his spear and a finishing blow with his hammer. He also slams Raiden down to the ground and pierces his spear through his back and out the front before the hammer slam.
The trailer ends with Shao Kahn’s fatality which is absolutely brutal. Shao Kahn hits Raiden’s leg with his hammer, followed by one on the head which makes Raiden bend down. Shao Kahn then hits his hammer on Raiden’s head which sends it flying back literally through his body in a huge, gory explosion.
We were expecting a Shao Kahn reveal on April 22 as it was revealed by the Community Manager at NetherRealm Studios Tyler Lansdown. However, it looks like we got an early surprise and got the trailer much earlier than expected. Some early copies of Mortal Kombat 11 have also arrived in the wild so we can expect that we will start seeing some more content as well.
