CI Games has announced that the PS5 version of its upcoming title Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 has been delayed to unforeseen technical issues and will now release further down in 2021. These technical issues were discovered in the weeks leading up to the launch. However, as detailed by the developer, the delay is only for the PS5 version of the game and the remaining platforms are not affected by this delay.
Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is still releasing on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on June 4, 2021, as announced earlier. To make up to its fans, CI Games has decided that it will provide the first major DLC for the game, featuring a new and extensive map complete with brand new contracts, free to all players of the game. The free DLC will be available to all platforms and additional information about the DLC is on the way as well and will be shared soon.
Players who purchase the digital or physical edition of the game will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version without any charges. They will find the digital PS5 version of the game ready to download upon its release. Until the official release of the PS5 version, players will be able to play the PS4 version on their PS5 consoles. On the next-gen consoles, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 will feature native 4K resolution, enhanced textures, and visuals and faster SSD loading times.

We could not have foreseen these issues. However, we would like to assure our players that our highly experienced, professional and dedicated team are working hard with the platform holder and engine provider to resolve the problems as soon as feasibly possible, to ensure we can bring the PS5 community the high calibre sniping game they have been waiting for. We will offer a free digital upgrade to the PS5 version with all physical and digital purchases of the PS4 release.
Previously, the developer teased long-range shooting in the title along with a new gameplay trailer. An additional trailer was also released for the game that showcases the game’s setting in Kuamar.
