According to reports. Sony is offering refunds for Anthem due to system crash that the game is causing. Many reports from Anthem players over at the official subreddit of Anthem at Reddit, after attempting to close out the application from the PS4 menu, the console blacks out and shuts down completely.
The issue has bee persistent for some users dating back to the VIP Demo in February. Apparently, you can get a refund if you have the same issue. In the same Reddit post where an unhappy Anthem player complained about the game issue, another Redditor pointed out that Sony is well aware of the issue, and is handing out refunds.
When encountering a crash or game error, sometimes I get booted to the main menu or out of the game completely to the PS4 dashboard. But twice now when trying to matchmake my PS4 has completely turned off. Don’t worry about the loot patch ffs, sort the bugs out first please
Another Redditor then went on to test the claim of the refund. Not only did it work, but the support handed the refund with no questions asked.
Sony does not do this too often, as it is pretty strict about its digital return policy that it rarely goes against. The last time the company handed refunds was for No Man’s Sky on the basis of false advertising that the game producers showed prior to the launch of the game.
Happened to me as well. The worst part is when it shuts your console off, it does it as if you pulled the power plug out of the wall. The console has to fix itself as well as repair my external HDD.
Anthem has not has the most smoothest of launches, in fact it has been filled with bugs and game crash issues. The original post of reddit page was created by a Redditor by the name of ‘forthemasters’, to vent about the problems of the game. the user claimed that upon encountering a crash or an error, the game sometimes went back to main menu, or closed and brought up the PlayStation 4 dashboard. Other claims were made about the console completely shutting off due to the game crashes.
It is fair to ask for a refund and Sony should seriously investigate the matter where the consoles are experiencing system shutdown or crashes. Players asking for refund should be considered.
Having said that, the game is not crashing for everyone else, though it does have its issues and bugs. Most people are having little to no problems with the game.
Anthem is available right now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Have you got any problems with your copy of Anthem? Let us know in the comments below.
