Sony Takes Down PS4 Lineup Video After Accusations of Plagiarism

Sony PS4 Plagiarism

Sony has removed its PS4 lineup video advertisement after plagiarism accusations. The company has been accused of copying the art and animation style in their latest video of games. After looking at the side by side comparison, it is no brainer that the styling and animation sequence of the videos has been entirely copied.

Sony immediately took down the video after the accusation, and the YouTube video was delisted from the platform. However, you can still check out the video below that was shared by a Twitter account called Catsuka. The account put up a side by side comparison which clearly shows how much of the animation style was copied for this promotional video.

According to Gematsu, the video featured Tanaka, who has worked with Boku no Lyric no Boyomi. The video features 16 game titles, but it is the style f animation that is the issue and is being questioned upon.

The video in question is made by Kevin Bao, according to DualShockers. Bao has previously been accused of plagiarizing a “Live with YouTube Gaming” animation as well. Following the plagiarism accusation, Bao has made his Instagram account private, while the artist has been delisted from the website of Connection.

In addition, the production company behind the video, Eallin Animation, came out with their statement and also confirmed to have cut ties from the artist.

We had no knowledge that the work produced by Kevin Bao was plagiarized. We have ceased with immediate effect any representation of Kevin Boa’s work and have contacted Kevin for a response.

Sony has not responded to any of the accusations as of yet, other than reacting to it by removing the video from YouTube and other social platforms. It is unusual for a company to overlook such a thing when they can easily hire any freelancer to work on a different animation style or a completely new idea.
