Developer Crimson Herring Studios has announced that it will be heading to Gamescom 2022 later this month with a brand-new demo of Sovereign Syndicate. Sovereign Syndicate is Crimson Herring Studios’ new cRPG set in Victorian steampunk London where you will get to explore an open world as one of three characters. There is no skill-based system in the game however it uses a tarot card chance system in its place instead.
The new demo showcased at Gamescom 2022 will be different from the currently available playtest of the game on Steam and it will reflect all of the progress in the title’s development that has been made ever since the title was revealed. After its reveal at the event, the developer will release the demo on Steam for all of the public as well where they will be able to test out the small slice of the game as well. The demo will allow players to sink into Sovereign Syndicate’s complex narrative take on a Steampunk Victorian London which is filled with mythological creatures and guided by the tarot.
Check out the previously released trailer for the title below:
Key features of Sovereign Syndicate include:
- A large open world to explore, 20 different locations spread over the city’s east docklands
- Three playable characters
- Three intertwined stories to experience
- Branching narrative and dialogue system
- Character customization
- Tarot card chance system
- Single-player
- Optional Hardcore mode
- Multi-language support
Each of the three playable characters in the game has branching stories that intertwine. You will investigate, interact and take action which will result in you leaving your mark on the world and its inhabitants. The game completely ditches the stat points system, and you must use your skills to level them up as you lay down your luck on the tarot card chance system which plays a key role in the game.
Additional details about Sovereign Syndicate will be announced at a later date. If you want to add the game to your wishlist or want to follow up with additional updates, you can check out the title’s Steam page. There is no word yet on a release window of the title.
