Spelunker HD Deluxe Announced for PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Strictly Limited Games has just announced the addictive platformer from the 80s, Spelunker HD Deluxe for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The game will be available as Limited and Collector’s Edition for pre-order from Sunday at the Strictly Limited Games Shop.

There is also a digital version of the game for both consoles which will be released in the third quarter of 2021 by ININ Games.

If you are a dedicated retro game fan, you might remember the original game that was first released in 1983 on the Atari 8bit computer. Fans of the series will also remember the much recent PS award-winning Spelunker HD released for the PlayStation 3. But now Strictly Limited Games has brought Spelunker HD Deluxe with fresh graphics and a new game mode.

The game will feature several varieties of game modes with many different stages. There are plenty of challenges and mysteries that lie in the depths. You can play all the game modes in single-player, but some also support online multiplayer with up to six people. The game modes are:

Adventure: Players can explore 100 stages by fighting and jumping their way through enemies and obstacles
Competition: The best cave explorer wins! In this mode, players can compete with their friends
Championship: The name says it all… This mode includes another 100 super-difficult, challenging stages that seek for real cave exploring experts
Endless Cave NEO: In this mode, players can compete and see how far they get in endless, randomly-generated caves

Moving on to the details of both the Limited edition and the Collector’s Edition. The Limited Addition is limited to 2,700 on the Switch and 1,500 on the PlayStation 4
