Split Fiction | Friend Edition Unboxing

Split Fiction: Friend’s Edition comes with a copy of Split Fiction, a second controller, and for the first time in history, a real-life friend who will sit with you and play the entire Split Fiction game with you all the way to the credits screen. Taking note of the game’s Friend’s Pass, which allows players to invite another player to jump into Split Fiction with just a single copy of the game, Josef Fares comments that he has listened to feedback shared by players from around the globe. A lot of players have this problem of finding someone to play the game with, and if they want to make it easier, they can just order the Friend’s Edition of Split Fiction, which will arrive at their doorstep with everything they will need to jump into the game in co-op.

Greg, a companion who will be part of Split Fiction: Friend Edition, comments:

As a gamer, being part of an epic special edition like this is awesome! I’m honored to be the first ever real-life friend to come with a game. It was a little scary when Josef Fares told me to go into the packaging, but it’s roomier and comfier than it looks. I’m excited to travel the world and make a new friend. I’ve got snacks to share and high fives to hand out as soon as I’m unboxed.

EA Chief Publishing Officer Scott Forrest also commented:

They’re doing WHAT!? No, of course we didn’t sign off on this! Why on Earth would they go through the trouble of shipping when you can just join the Discord and use Friend’s Pass for free.

Another way of finding someone to play the game with is through the studio’s official Discord page, where tons of players are currently taking part in meaningful discussions about the game, ready to jump into it as soon as it goes live later this week. This means that even if you are unable to get your hands on Split Fiction’s Friend Edition, you can still find players through the Discord channel.

Split Fiction is slated for release on March 6, 2025, across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via EA App, Steam, and Epic Games Store. All platforms have full cross-play support,t which means that you can use Friend’s Pass to jump into the game with a friend on any platform. Nothing stops the co-op gameplay when it comes to Split Fiction.
