Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic in Development Without EA and BioWare

Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic

According to multiple sources and reports, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is in development with a new unconfirmed developer. Furthermore, the game is also not being developed by EA and BioWare.

The latest rumor comes from the Star Wars insider Bespin Bulletin podcast who talked about the project that is currently in development outside of EA. The podcast also confirmed that it is unconfirmed who is developing the game as of right now.

Amongst my digging, I heard there is a Knights of the Old Republic project in development somewhere. I talked to a couple of people, and I also found out that Jason Schreier said that it’s not with EA, and we’ll ‘never guess’ who the studio is that’s making this game.

This comes after Jason Schreier had previously reported a new Knights of the Old Republic game in development that is not a project of EA and BioWare. The rumors also say that the new game will take elements of the first King of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, and merge the two stories in a way to fit the new game.

Earlier this month, we reported about Lucasfilm Games teaming up with Ubisoft and Bethesda for two new games where one of them includes a Star Wars game. Ubisoft had revealed that the new Star Wars game will be a new story-driven open-world video game that will be set in the Star Wars galaxy. The game will be headed by Massive Entertainment which is Ubisoft’s AAA studio based in Malmo, Sweden, and will be using the most cutting-edge technologies such as the Snowdrop engine to deliver a groundbreaking Star Wars adventure.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has not been official confirmed as of yet. Naturally, there will be a lot of rumors floating around about the game until the title has confirmed.
