Starlink: Battle for Atlas

A free update is coming for Starlink: Battle for Atlas as confirmed by Ubisoft. The update is launching tomorrow 21 December that will bring a handful of new items, interesting enemies, activities, and a photo mode.

In a detailed video trailer, many new types of enemies were detailed along with how they function in combat with your ship. From underground huge worms to exploding mines, the update brings in a fresh line of enemies to hook you right back in the game.

Take a look at the update trailer below.

New enemy units have been added into the Atlas Star System. The Sentinel is a Legion unit that scouts the area for threats and calls nearby Legion to their position. The Sentinels also summon Gravity Orbs that redirect and absorb enemy fire.

There are also Obelisks that you will find on Sonatus, Ashar, and Necrom. They defend their troops with highly focused beams. There are also Snowcatches and Prickle Burrs that appear in Tundria and Haven respectively, where these are pesky Flora that attach themselves to starships, slowing them down.

There are also Gloom Gobs and Bile Bombs that offer a different challenge introduced to the environments of Necrom and Vylus. These blobs will follow anything that attacks them, growing while taking damage, and exploding on impact. The bigger they are, the more they deal damage.

There are also Ashworms that lice exclusively in the acid pools on Ashar, and are extremely aggressive and attack ships on site. While Sandworms roam in the desert planet of Kirite, where these relentless creatures will not give up without a chase.

Other than the enemies, there are also items like Electrum that can be collected as resources in the game. You can find them in space, or on planets.

There are also Activities that have been added with the update. These activities are called Outlaw Fortifications where you can find these fortifications all over Atlas, being defended by Scrapper and Ravager turrets.

Finally, there is a new Photo Mode in Starlink: Battle of Atlas that give you various customization options to take the perfect photos of your battles, and adventures in space.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. What do you think about the contents of this update? Let us know in the comments below.
