Gamedust has released the latest update for Best Forklift Operator which brings the much-awaited steering wheel support to the title. Apart from steering wheel support, the new update also brings VR goggles + other controller support to the game as well. Along with this, the game also has completely new control presets and improved button binding. The game also supports Point Shop and Community items now which comes as a surprise for the players.
Since Best Forklift Operator is currently in Early Access, the game has currently received support for the most popular steering wheels currently available in the market. So far, tested and confirmed steering wheels in Best Forklift Operator include Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 (Xbox 360 model), Logitech G29, Thrustmaster T150 Racing Wheel & Thrustmaster T300 RS Racing Wheel. Apart from these models, general support for other models has also arrived.
You can use the steering wheels in both VR and non-VR modes. As of now, the game shows the steering wheel as a gamepad. The current VR integration with any controller is still in the works so it is more of a try-and-test method for most controllers. The developer is aiming for a VR + anything mode however it is still in the works and will take some time to fully implement in the game. You may experience some bugs with certain controllers or gamepads in VR mode however it will be perfected in the coming days.
New controller presets are now available in the game as well so if you were previously unhappy with the game’s control settings, you can now switch to another controller preset which suits your gameplay style more. If you still want more customized controller settings, you can set custom controls for both gamepads and keyboards as well. Three presets are available, and a fourth option allows you to go for custom settings.
Finally, Valve has also enabled Point Shop and Community Items for Best Forklift Operator so you can access them from the Store page of Best Forklift Operator as well. These items include Animated Avatars, Animated Avatar Frames, Animated Backgrounds, Animated Mini-Backgrounds, Stickers, Badges, and more. For German players, the game is now fully playable in German. More updates about the game will be released in the coming weeks leading up to its full release.
Best Forklift Operator was originally announced back in November 2021 and it was released in Steam Early Access in April 2022. Currently, the developers are actively developing and expanding the title according to fan feedback. The latest update is one such update that has been released while keeping fan feedback in check.
