Indie developer Pathea Games has announced the launch of Super Buckyball Tournament and its preseason available for free on Steam until December 6th 12 am PST. The developer is also knowing for its popular sandbox RPG My Time at Portia.
In addition to the free game, you will have a new challenger Samba, two Arcade modes (Dodgeball mode and Mayhem mode), a new lobby, in-game background music, a comprehensive collection of skins, and a season pass with 60 levels.
This comes after the inclusion of six characters, two stadiums and mission system that were featured during the game’s open alpha earlier this year.
Dylan Li, producer of the game had this to say,
Speed, strategy and intensity are at the forefront of our minds as we tinker away on the next esports smash hit. The upcoming preseason will help us further transform this 3v3 physics-based contest into the action-packed, high-adrenaline version we’d like to share with the world next year.
To access the two Arcade modes in the game, Dodgeball and Mayhem, you will have to reach level 6 of the season pass. Dodgeball will challenge players to avoid getting hit by two balls while making sure the balls don’t rest on their side of the stadium for more than 12 seconds. On the other hand, Mayhem is a super-powered version of Standard mode, as abilities charge three times faster and players take control of random characters each time a goal is scored.
Each more will be available every 24 hours to ensure that you can enjoy one mode every other day.
Super Buckyball Tournament is set in the future where artificial intelligence manifests itself via robotic humanoids and people splice their DNA with animals. The game has two teams compete to score the most goals within 6 minutes. Each real-time match feels different, as players are encouraged to strategize and experiment with unique character abilities and stadium items.
