The character roster for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is now final and the developers have decided the five DLC characters which will join the game later as part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass.
This was revealed by Masahiro Sakurai who is currently the director of the project. He informed the fans that this time all characters were chosen by Nintendo and the selection is already complete. His official tweet is as follows.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s DLC line-up is now complete. This time the selection was made entirely by Nintendo. I decide if we can create a fighter based on their selection, then come up with the plan.

Apparently, the developers of the game were receiving too many character requests which the fans wanted in the game as DLC characters that Sakurai had to put out another tweet specifically asking the fans that the decision is final and the character roster is final so they should stick to the topic and stop bombarding them with character requests.
It’s great to dream about your favorite character joining the battle and I appreciate your passion, but please try to stay on topic when replying to tweets and refrain from flooding us, and other users, with requests when we're not specifically asking for feedback. Thank you!
