Today at 10 AM PT, SVP of Sega of America and Chief Branding Officer of Sonic the Hedgehog, Ivo Gerscovic, will be hosting a Reddit AMA session. During the live, open, and online AMA Q&A opportunity on Reddit, participants will get the chance to connect with Ivo on his supersonic career with SEGA as well their recent partnership with Paramount to create and launch Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
Ivo Gerscovich has spent more than 5 years with SEGA of America and has spearheaded different expansive growth initiatives across Sega’s $1 Billion+ flagship franchise, Sonic the Hedgehog, through different console games, television, and consumer products across all categories.
Apart from leading Sonic to the top, he has also led all aspects of the brand and the business unit with responsibilities spanning across games development, production, consumer product licensing, theme part licensing, creative services, and PR research. Sega’s most-recent release comes in the form of a movie and not a video game as Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released back in February 2020. The movie was pushed into 2020 as the earlier Sonic designs were rejected by fans and the overall community of Sega’s iconic character.
Sega then decided that they will delay the movie and work on a redesign of Sonic’s character model for the movie. The new model was greatly loved by the fans and community alike and thus the movie was released to a great reception. However, we are still looking forward to a new Sonic game to come soon.
Quite recently, Numskull announced the release of their infamous cosplaying ducks’ new range which also included a special set based on Sega’s iconic Sonic the Hedgehog. Sega itself announced a wide range of Officially licensed Sonic the Hedgehog product line based on the recently released movie.
