Developer Helios Studio has revealed new details for its tactical military shooter game Black One Blood Brothers. Black One: Blood Brothers is a tactical single-player FPS that combines strategy, customization, and high replayability. Developed over nearly four years by Victor, a dedicated solo developer, the game first launched in Early Access on Steam two years ago and is now gearing up for its full 1.0 release in 2025.
The latest update to the Early Access version brings a comprehensive overhaul, enhancing characters, animations, and weapon systems. The game’s new features aim to create a more immersive experience, with a solo campaign offering 20 missions, a procedural campaign mode, and various additional game modes. These updates provide you with new ways to engage in the tactical world of Black One Blood Brothers.

In Black One Blood Brothers, you assume command of an elite global unit known as “Black One.” This independent squad operates outside political boundaries, tackling high-stakes missions where strategy and coordination are critical. As the squad leader, you are tasked with executing complex operations that require dynamic decision-making and careful planning. From customizing crew members to adjusting tactical strategies on the fly, the game offers a deep level of player control and high replayability.
The campaign mode, titled Operation “Serpent’s Whisper,” follows the squad as they combat the insurgent group “New World,” which has launched devastating global attacks. Across 20 missions, you must neutralize this threat while tracing the source of their funding. The campaign introduces the challenge of permanent losses for squad members, adding a heightened sense of realism and urgency to each mission.
Black One Blood Brothers was developed with the input of a former French Special Forces Commando Marine, which adds a layer of authenticity to its gameplay. You command a squad of 10 operators, each with distinct abilities, and can switch between first-person and third-person views for varied perspectives. Success hinges on meticulous planning, managing resources, and coordinating team movements. The game also features a unique “Battle Plan” system, which allows you to pre-plan each operator’s actions or issue dynamic quick commands in real time.
Customization is central to the experience, allowing you to tailor your squad’s skills and weapons. With numerous game modes, including Spec Ops, War, and Siege, as well as a robust map editor, Black One Blood Brothers offers endless replayability. You can create custom missions, share them via Steam Workshop, and continuously evolve their experience. Victor, the game’s developer, described Black One Blood Brothers as a passion project aimed at reviving the joy of tactical FPS in single-player form, with the addition of innovative features like the Battle Plan system.

The developer is actively releasing new updates for the title making it better with every release. As of now, there is no word on a full release for the game but considering the fact that it was released back in 2022, we can expect a full 1.0 release in 2025. We will have to wait and see.
