ININ Games along with developer TAITO has announced a special collection called TAITO MILESTONES including 10 of TAITO’s classic titles from the 80s. TAITO MILESTONES is coming to Nintendo Switch in the form of both a digital and a physical release for Nintendo Switch. Each of these titles represents a breakthrough in development and gaming history and they will all launch in the form of a collection.
For its Japan release, TAITO is handling the publishing itself however for the Western release, ININ Games is taking over the publishing work. TAITO MILESTONES will release in the form of Limited and Collector’s Edition at the Strictly Limited Games Partner Store and pre-orders for both editions will go live shortly. The digital edition will follow the physical edition.
TAITO MILESTONES will allow you to replay the classics where it all began. All of these titles paved the way for the following decades of TAITO’s arcade dominance marking them the milestones in the company’s history. These titles range from sports, shooter, puzzle, and platforming titles catering to a wide variety of gamers. The ten titles included in the collection are:
- 1981 – QIX – Draw lines as the “Marker” and capture areas by encircling them. Watch out for enemies while moving around!
- 1981 – SPACE SEEKER – A hybrid of strategy and shooting, 1981’s Space Seeker has you battling for victory against ever-approaching waves of enemy air forces in 3D, and mobile fortresses in 2D. Use the map to track your foes, but stay in one place too long and your bases will be overrun, losing you a life!
- 1982 – ALPINE SKI – Enter the stage of the world of snow and take part in three competitions: Downhill ski, slalom and ski jump!
- 1982 – FRONT LINE – Push forward to the enemy camp as a foot soldier! Drive tanks and armored vehicles!
- 1982 – WILD WESTERN – Defeat the gangs attacking from all directions with your trusty rifle! You are the law!
- 1983 – Chack’n Pop – Hang in there, Chack’n! Get back the hearts from the thieving Monsta.
- 1983 – ELEVATOR ACTION – Infiltrate a building as a spy on a solo mission, get all secret documents and make your escape!
- 1985 – The FairyLand Story – As the witch Ptolemy, you have to defeat the monsters deep inside the castle!
- 1986 – HALLEY’S COMET – Halley’s comet is headed for the planets of our solar system. Destroy the computer at its center!
- 1987 – THE NINJAWARRIORS – Advance into enemy territory as an android ninja to crush the evil Banglar’s ambitions!
Pre-orders for the Limited and Collector’s Edition including some really cool physical goodies have officially started at Strictly Limited Games Partner Store and you can head there right now to secure your desired copy of the game. Pre-orders for the digital edition will start soon as well on ININ Games’ official website.
The Limited Edition for Nintendo Switch is limited to just 3,000 copies and it will set you back €39.99 while the Collector’s Edition for Nintendo Switch is limited to just 2,000 copies and it will set you back €89.99. It will include the following goodies:
