Team17 has Teased a Free Update of Overcooked 2 for the Chinese New Year

Overcooked 2

In a short trailer released by Team17, it looks like a free update might be coming for Overcooked 2 on the occasion of the Chinese New Year. The update will be free for all players.

There is not much detail about the update other than the colorful teaser trailer. However, it is believed that the add-on will come in an update on the Chinese New Year day, which is on 5 February, 2019.

Take a look at the teaser trailer below:

The trailer gives a short glimpses of new levels and chefs in celebration of the Chinese New Year. It shows an unlockable porcine chef as seen in the video, and while the new year is the year of the Pig, there might be something related to that coming in the game too.

With little no details other than the trailer, Team17 suggests fans to keep a closer look at  its official Twitter account for more clues and details.

The pattern of the free update follows the one we saw back in Christmas of last year where free content was added for the holiday season for all players of the game. the update was called Kevin’s Christmas Cracker and brought in five new kitchens for players to master, new recipes for mince pies, Christmas pudding and hot chocolate, and elf and snowman chefs.

The free update also came out with an unlimited practice mode and online support for two local players to play with or against two other local players online.

The update is out next week on 5 February, which is not that long of a wait. We expect more information coming out on Team17’s official Twitter account about the update before the actual release of the update.

Overcooked 2 is available for players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Let us know what you think of the teaser trailer of the free update. Post your comments below.
